Peregrine Secures US Distribution

We are thrilled to have cemented our relationship with our premium US wine importer, Vineyard Brands as a result of a visit earlier this month by Greg Doody, President and CEO of Vineyard Brands. During the trip hosted by our owners, Lindsay, Jude and Fraser McLachlan a long term business agreement was signed that will see our full range of wines distributed across the US.

Vineyard Brands are a medium sized, family owned wine importer with a long term approach and complete focus on quality. With a strong reputation forged by the founding family of Vineyard Brands dating back to 1928, and values that align so well with ours here at Peregrine, Vineyard Brands are a fantastic business partner to work with to take our wines and our story the length and breadth of the US.

At Peregrine we have built our brand on the support and loyalty of our domestic market, and this long term arrangement will not detract from our dedication to our local customer base. However, having spent the last 7 years growing our presence with our stunning Pinot Noirs we are excited about working with Vineyard Brands to educate the largest wine consuming country in the world on the wider range of world class wines we can produce here in Central Otago.

First In New Zealand - Biological Brush at Peregrine Wines

It's been a while since we reported from the Vineyard, but the most recent events could not go without mention.

Peregrine Wines has bought New Zealand's first ever Biological Brush. This technologically advanced under vine mower differentiates from conventional mowers as it operates with the use of sensors, decreasing the damage that can occur to trunks as with a standard mower.

Nick Paulin our viticulturist says "Not only does it mow closer to the base of the vine without trunk damage but it also means that we no longer have to bud rub. The Biological brush is also connected to the tractor enabling us to do two jobs at once. Quite simply it is a far more efficient, sustainable and economical way to manage the under vine"

Nick also went on to say that "This is quite a new-world process but for Peregrine and the geography of our vineyards, especially at Bendigo where the mower caresses over stones rather than being inhibited by them".

Being the first in New Zealand is very exciting for us - at Peregrine we have always strived to remain ahead of times, looking for new and innovative processes. There is certainly a "buzz" amongst the Vineyard team for this season and moving forward in to the future.
