DIRECT TO CONSUMER SALES OPPORTUNITY

Peregrine Wines operates a winery Cellar Door in Gibbston for wine tastings and sales, offers a personalised service to our two wine clubs, and operates an ongoing direct to consumer programme.

 

We are seeking to expand our retail sales team with an opportunity for a candidate experienced in direct to consumer sales, or a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills that is interested in the wine industry.

 

This position is a fulltime role and the successful applicant will become an integral member of a progressive sales and marketing team, benefitting from Peregrine’s career development programme.

 

While experience would be highly beneficial, a willingness to learn is a primary attribute and the position will suit applicants from a wide background. 

 

The ideal candidate will offer:

  • the characteristics and personal attributes to work effectively in our existing tight knit team;
  • the drive and motivation to build on Peregrine’s position in the market and continue to project our brand values;
  • exceptional frontline and customer service skills;
  • wine experience is an advantage, but the motivation to learn is essential;
  • be based in Central Otago, and be willing to perform weekend work as required on a roster basis.

ASSISTANT VINEYARD MANAGER

Peregrine Estate vineyards in Bendigo are managed by a team of talented and enthusiast members, led by an Operations Manager and Viticulturist.  As we continue to expand our planted areas and increase our operation, a role now exists for an Assistant Vineyard Manager to aid with day-to-day activity in the vineyards.

 

This position is a fulltime, permanent role and the successful applicant will become an integral member of a progressive vineyard team, benefitting from Peregrine’s career development programme.

 

The key tasks of this role may include:

  • supervision of vineyard labour when required;
  • involvement in the development of our biodynamic management program;
  • involvement in our development program to expand the Estate land under vine;
  • hands on day-to-day operation of the vineyards such as;
    - canopy management, trellis maintenance, pruning and vine training.
    - machinery operation such as spraying, trimming, leaf plucking, mowing, mulching, and undervine management.
    - irrigation management; service and maintenance of system;
  • ancillary tasks required for the farming operation within the Estate;
  • contributing to the quality and safety culture of Peregrine.
     

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A sound understanding of viticultural principles and practices and an open mind to innovative and progressive approaches to viticulture;
  • Desire to work in a mechanical and groundwork based role;
  • Flexibility, sound communication skills, a willingness to learn and be part of a strong and cohesive team;
  • Strong knowledge of safety conduct and procedures;
  • Class 1 valid driver’s license.

FULLTIME VINEYARD OPPORTUNITY

Peregrine Estate owns extensive organic vineyard plantings at our Bendigo Estate alongside a farming operation, integrating crop and livestock farming into vineyard management. 

 

We are seeking to grow the team at our Bendigo Estate to manage our rapidly expanding vineyard area, with an opportunity for a candidate experienced in organic/biodynamic viticulture, or if not experienced must have an enthusiasm for such viticultural procedures.

 

This position is a fulltime, permanent role and the successful applicant will an become integral member of a progressive vineyard team, benefitting from Peregrine’s career development programme.

 

While experience would be highly beneficial, a willingness to learn is a primary attribute and the position will suit applicants from a wide background. 

 

The key tasks of this role may include:

  • hands on day-to-day operation of the vineyards such as;
  • canopy management, trellis maintenance, pruning and vine training;
  • machinery operation if the successful candidate has the skillset (or as trained by our capable team);
  • irrigation management, service and maintenance of system;
  • ancillary tasks required for the farming operation within the estate;
  • contributing to the quality and safety culture of Peregrine.
     

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A sound understanding or desire to learn viticultural principles and practices;
  • Desire to work in a mechanical and groundwork based role;
