TASTING NOTE:The fruit for this wine came from the Northburn vineyard from the Cromwell basin and the Rafters Road vineyard in Gibbston.
The 2006 vintage was a very good harvest for Sauvignon Blanc with well balanced fruit a good varietal definition. The Northburn fruit was very ripe and tasted strongly of Pineapple and Passion fruit. The Rafters Road fruit was a real mix of flavours. Capsicum, gooseberries and fruit salad.

All the fruit was carefully hand harvested The Northburn fruit on the 16th of March and the Rafters Road fruit on April 24th. All the fruit was destemmed and crushed prior to gentle pressing. The resulting juice was cool stainless steel fermented to retain fruit character. The wine was left on yeast lees for two months to help with mouth feel and complexity.

The resulting wine abounds with pineapple, gooseberries, and capsicum as well as underlying minerals. It is well balanced, luscious and mouth filling with great persistence.
