TASTING NOTE:The fruit for this wine came from the Northburn, Aurora, Ramsay, Dunbar, Hosie and Morris vineyards in the Cromwell basin.
The 2006 vintage was early and warm giving a more perfume and floral Riesling fruit rather than the more citrus and mineral we usually work with.

The fruit was carefully hand harvested between the 12th of March and the 25th of May de-stemmed, crushed and gently pressed to tank for cold settling.
The juice from each batch was cool fermented separately in stainless steel vats to retain fruit character. The wine was fermented to 18g/l residual sugar and racked off yeast lees and blended to keep the wine fresh and focused.

The resulting is a vibrant mouth filling wine with a lifted ripe apricot, floral notes, and some influence of grapefruit. It has perfect balance natural sweetness and refreshing acidity.

The 2006 Peregrine Rastasburn Riesling is a luscious medium style Riesling that lingers long on the palate.
