Karearea 2007 Pinot Noir
- 74% Cromwell Basin and 26% Gibbston
- 8 - 10 years
- Duck, venison and beef fillet
TASTING NOTE:The 2007 Karearea Pinot Noir is a Winemakers blend of exquisite parcels of fruit from a very low yielding excellent vintage.
It is made up from a range of clones from the Cromwell basin (74%) and the Gibbston (26%) areas of Central Otago.
The 2007 is our inaugural release, with only 311 cases made.
The aim of this wine was to make a wine with elegance and finesse but with increased structure, to make a wine that will age well.
The result is a wonderfully complex and concentrated wine, with spice and leather on the nose, the palate trumpets cassis, dark chocolate, black cherry and blackberries. The wine has full, supple tannins which match perfectly with the density of flavour and acid profile. A seductive wine that will reward the patient for years to come.
