TASTING NOTE:The 2009 Peregrine Chardonnay wine is made from fruit from the Cromwell basin. The 2009 growing season provided the perfect growing conditions for premium Chardonnay. Low yielding vines produced fruit with perfect balance.

The grapes were carefully hand harvested at optimum maturity and whole bunch pressed into French oak barrels (225 litre barriques and 500 litre puncheons). Fermentation completed quickly at a peak temperature of 25 degrees centigrade. Following fermentation the wine went through a secondary malo-lactic fermentation. The wine was lees stirred in barrel weekly.
The wine was racked and filtered and bottled without fining.

The 2009 Peregrine Chardonnay shows ripe Chardonnay characters of peach, nectarine, perfume and toasty oak. The palate is full with good acidity and a lingering finish. This wine should drink well to 2015.
