TASTING NOTE:The fruit for this wine came from the Cromwell basin, predominantly from the Northburn vineyard.

The fruit was hand harvested, destemmed to open top fermenters. The fruit was given a 5-7 day cold soak to help with colour and sweet fruit extraction. The fruit was then warm fermented before having an extended post fermentation maceration to help with tannin extraction and integration. The average time on skins was approximately three weeks.
The resulting wine was pressed to French oak barrels (40% new) where it spent 10 months. The wine was racked from barrel, given a light egg white fining before being bottled.

The 2004 Pinot Noir a deliciously full bodied wine with great depth of colour. It has layers of complexity with black cherries, ripe plums, spice and mouth caressing fine grain tannins.
